Surgery is a medical specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a person to investigate or treat a pathological condition such as a disease or injury, to help improve bodily function or appearance or to repair unwanted ruptured areas. The act of performing surgery may be called a surgical procedure, operation, or simply “surgery”. Women Dental College continue to grow by successfully recruiting the best and brightest faculty, providing exceptional surgical care for an ever-broader population, and creating new and better physical space for patient care, education, and research. The concept of “One surgeon for all surgical conditions” still holds relevance in our setting, but is gradually fading away. Surgical specialties and super specialties are rapidly making their presence felt in our region, and our department is keeping up with this evolutionary journey. We have assigned various specialties to each surgical unit, so that patient care keeps pace with international standards.
