Introduction

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Women Dental College was officially established in 2020 as per instructions from Khyber Medical University. The main goal of QEC is to enhance the quality of education of different programs in WMDC.
Self-evaluation is an essential method for assuring the quality of academic programs with the help of faculty and administration to build good educationalstandards.
To preserve and raise the standard of higher education, QEC must make sure that quality assurance processes are created.Receiving feedback and utilizing data gathered during the assessment of an educational program is a continuous process that helps students learn better.

Mission

Ensuring and promoting the quality of medical education at the undergraduate level and developing the best health and research practices.

Vision

To create educational standards at national and international levels with a high-quality profile in learning, research, development, and patient care.

Objectives

1- QEC is responsible for facilitating the adoption of Quality Assurance policies and practices.
2- To improve institutional performance and stakeholders’ satisfaction, WDC should adopt quality-focused strategies.
3- QEC is responsible for receiving feedback from students, faculty, alumni recently graduating, and employee.
4- QEC is responsible for the review of academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.

EXTERNAL AUDIT MBBS 2022

Quality Enhancement Cell of Women Medical & Dental College Abbottabad, arranged the external audit of Self-Assessment Report (SAR) of the MBBS program on 29th August 2022. The audit of WM&DC was carried out by external auditors from Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, and Abbottabad International Medical College.

Head of Department, Assistant Professor, Medical Education & Research

Dr. M. Abdullah Qazi completed his Masters in Medical Education (MMEd) and PhD in Medical Education from the University of Dundee (UoD), UK. He was a postgraduate tutor for the MMEd course in the UoD, UK, and mentor in the Oxford International Digital Institute, UK. He has also been involved in several projects in the UK related to health professions education including postgraduation medical education course development, quality enhancement, and online teaching and learning.

Skills and Expertise

Clinical, classroom, and online teaching and learning, assessment, medical education research, curriculum development, leadership training, quality assurance, faculty development, mentoring programs, and student empowerment for undergraduate and postgraduate health professions training programs. His research interest lies in gender studies, equality, diversity, and inclusion, specifically the career progression of female health professionals in Pakistan and the barriers and enablers they face, as well as online teaching and learning. Currently, he is working as the Head of Department, Department of Medical Education & Research, Women Medical & Dental College.

With a structured and analytical approach, she supports the continuous improvement of academic and administrative processes and contributes to building a sustainable quality culture across the institution.
